The factory's eye. From HMI to PLC.

— Definition

SCADA — Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. The eyes, ears, and hands of industrial installations such as factories, plants, water networks, and power stations. Senkronix SCADA projects build out every layer of operations — from PLC integration to HMI design, from alarm management to data historians.

N° I — Why Custom SCADA?

Off-the-shelf SCADA is powerful.
But your facility is unique.

Strong off-the-shelf SCADA platforms exist on the market: Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Schneider Citect, Wonderware InTouch, Ignition, iFix. All are mature products — but you must adapt your facility to them. License costs (per user, per tag) scale linearly with facility size. When you want a custom alarm logic, custom report, or custom protocol added, you either hit add-on limits of the package or have to purchase long-term integrator consulting.

Senkronix SCADA projects follow one of two paths: (1) Custom layer over a ready-made platform — we develop Senkronix-specific HMI, reporting, and integration modules on top of existing Siemens WinCC, Rockwell, Ignition, and similar systems. This preserves your license investment and adds value. (2) Web-based SCADA from scratch — a fully custom system built with modern web technologies, especially suited to distributed, multi-user, cloud-enabled facilities close to the IoT world. The second option takes longer but is more flexible and scalable long-term.

Which path to choose?

  • If you have an existing PLC + SCADA investment — customizing on top of the existing platform is the rational choice
  • Greenfield new facility — web-based custom SCADA is more flexible and future-proof
  • Distributed architecture (multi-location) — single-panel monitoring via central cloud SCADA
  • Critical MES and ERP integration — direct connection established through custom development
  • OT/IT security is paramount — in both paths, architecture is designed according to IEC 62443 standards

SCADA's value is directly proportional to the variety of devices it connects to. The PLCs, RTUs, energy analyzers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), flowmeters, and temperature transmitters at your facility can come from different vendors using different protocols. Senkronix SCADA supports all major industrial brands and protocols used in Turkey and globally.

N° V — Frequently Asked

Clear questions,
clear answers.

I have an existing Siemens WinCC or Rockwell FactoryTalk deployment. Do you start from scratch?+
No. Preserving your existing license is always more economical. Developing custom HMI, reports, and MES integrations on top of platforms like WinCC, FactoryTalk, InTouch, Citect, and Ignition is our most common approach. We recommend starting from scratch only for new investments or when the existing platform has reached structural limits.
Which PLC manufacturers do you work with?+
We have experience with all major vendors common in the Turkish market: Siemens (S7-1200/1500 most heavily), Schneider (Modicon), Omron, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Mitsubishi, Delta, LS. In terms of protocols, Modbus TCP/RTU is most common, followed by Profinet, EtherNet/IP, and OPC-UA. At project start, a site survey of your facility's devices produces the complete list and communication methods.
How is SCADA server redundancy provided?+
For critical facilities, active-passive (hot standby) architecture is our standard: when the primary server fails, the secondary takes over within seconds, and the operator continues uninterrupted. Historian data is synchronized in real time across both servers. On the PLC side, H-systems like S7-1500R/H and ControlLogix Redundancy are also monitored and reported. IEC 62439 compliant PRP/HSR network redundancy is supported as well.
What do you provide for OT cybersecurity?+
We design the architecture under the IEC 62443 standard: layered network per the Purdue model (Level 0-5), DMZ, firewall, unidirectional gateway (data diode) where needed. Operator accounts are centrally managed via AD/LDAP, MFA is enforced, and every critical action is logged. Findings from penetration testing and security audits are remediated. Configurations compliant with local data protection and NIS2 directives are also applied.
Do you provide 21 CFR Part 11 (GMP/Pharma) compliance?+
Yes. We build SCADA configurations that meet the electronic record and electronic signature requirements mandatory in pharmaceutical and food production. Audit trail, user authentication, e-signatures, data integrity (ALCOA+), system validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and GAMP 5-category documentation are included.
Can I monitor my factory from a mobile app?+
Yes. SCADA data is securely streamed to the mobile app and web dashboard. Managers get real-time KPIs, alarms, and trends; operators get limited-authority "operation approval" flows on mobile. Mobile access is kept secure via OT VPN or reverse proxy — the PLC is never directly exposed to the internet.
How is pricing handled?+
SCADA projects vary widely in scope. For a small facility, the first release can be delivered at the end of a 3-4 month sprint. Large and complex facilities take 8-18 months. Pricing is clarified in the discovery phase based on tag count, PLC and protocol variety, user count, redundancy level, and whether the build is on a ready-made platform or from scratch.
